Coleen Dixon, LMFT

Hi, I’m Coleen Dixon, LMFT, founder of Knit Psychotherapy Collective.

I specialize in helping high-capacity women, professionals, couples, and trauma survivors heal the deeper wounds that continue to shape relationships, identity, nervous system overwhelm, and everyday life.

Many of my clients are the people others depend on—the helper, the achiever, the caretaker, the high performer. From the outside, they often appear capable and composed. Internally, they may feel exhausted, disconnected, anxious, emotionally stuck, or trapped in patterns they can’t think their way out of. Sound familiar? Let’s get to work.

The way I practice therapy is crafted for clients who are ready for more than surface-level coping strategies. Together, we work toward meaningful, lasting change by addressing the root experiences driving present distress.

I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training, and I practice EMDR through the lens of attachment, nervous system regulation, and relational healing. Therapy with me is active, collaborative, depth-oriented, and tailored to your unique story and goals.

Over the years, I’ve developed particular expertise in:

  • Complex trauma and PTSD/CPTSD

  • Perinatal trauma, infertility, miscarriage, NICU experiences, and postpartum transitions

  • Betrayal trauma and attachment wounds

  • Burnout and overwhelm among executives, healthcare workers, creatives, and helping professionals

  • Couples and families navigating disconnection, conflict, or life transitions

  • Women and families in ministry or spiritually complex environments

At the core of my work is the belief that healing happens within safe, attuned relationships. Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the strongest predictors of successful outcomes—and I deeply honor the trust clients place in this process.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, thoughtful, and deeply engaged. I bring both clinical expertise and genuine humanity into the therapy room. I know how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy because my own introduction to this work started as a client searching for healing too.

Outside of the office, I recharge through time with family and friends, design projects, gardening, movement, and community. My Christian faith is an important part of my life, and I’m happy to incorporate spiritual integration into therapy when desired. At the same time, I welcome and affirm clients from all backgrounds, identities, and belief systems.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, transition, relational pain, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can become a space where your sacred story is held with care—and where lasting healing becomes possible.
